Translation and Language Justice

My bilingual work focuses on ensuring the essence and impact of statements remains true to original work. No word-by-word translation has ever succeeded in anything, and sociocultural aspects, regionalisms and popular culture can all be intertwined with a high-quality translation. I have worked successfully with campaings and organizations such as the Notariot campaign, Center for Urban Development, the Queer Detainee Empowerment Project, and MANYC.

Education and Teaching

With ten years of experience, I’ve always had a passion for teaching languages with an instruction style that fits the times, rather than focusing on filling up a book with vocabulary lists and grammar tables full of conjugations. The focus on class centers the student and what they want to achieve through their passions and interests, in order to generate learning that really sticks and feels interesting, useful and fitted to the situations it will be used in. As part of my educational career, I was part of the 1st panel of French Education in the Universities of Dominican Republic, has been a teacher alongside MayDay Space and a freelance educator through the pandemic. With experience in private institutions in my homeland for all levels of language learning and schooling.
